EELC constantly monitors the developments of environmental law in Estonia and in European Union (new legislative acts, drafts, deliberations in Estonian and European Parliament) and compiles the most important news into a monthly newsletter on environmental law (in Estonian). The news, accompanied by clarifying and analytical comments, are sent to the registered users electronically and published on the Estonian homepage of EELC.
All the monthly newsletters are electronically available (in Estonian) here: http://www.k6k.ee/keskkonnaigus/uudiskiri.
The aim of the newsletter is to increase the capacity of the target groups actually involved in making environmental decisions (NGOs, officials, individuals) and to demonstrate the importance of environmental law in everyday life to general public.
The monthly environmental law newsletter has been financed by different sources:
- January 2009 - December 2009 with the support of NGO Fund (VÜF) that is financed by governments of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. Financial support was coordinated by Open Estonia Foundation;
- January 2010 - May 2010 on voluntary basis by EELC lawyers;
- June 2010 - March 2011 with the support of National Foundation of Civil Society (KÜSK) as part of the project on social enterpreneurship;
- April 2011 - June 2011 on voluntary basis by EELC lawyers.
Since July 2011, the monthly newsletter is published with the support of Estonian Environmental Investment Centre (KIK).
